It’s two weeks now since i left London… time goes by so quickly…
I spent some days with my family recharging my batteries and had lots of conversations about my life in the uk and are dealing now with the situation to be back to my home country again.

Last saturday i did a last minute job as a stage hand at an event of the turkish community in stuttgart who celebrated the 50th anniversary since turkish guest-workers and their families came to live and work in germany. i helped to move sound and light equipment into the building, set up the stage for 3 traditional turkish bands and moved it all out again (until 3am in the next morning.) The line-up and music was rather exotic and not the tracklist i would play or dance to – but it was interesting to hear them perform live.
why not stay open minded… it was a new experience and almost like a day in turkey. 😉

Yesterday i decided to register officially with a new address in Stuttgart and start soon to run a small business organising and helping out at events in germany and making webdesign, flyers etc. to raise some money for the next journeys.

And apart from that i’ll keep on doing my art and music on the side and really need to brush up some skills in FL10, HTML5, CSS3 and Kanji. keep on reminding me and ask for some updates… 😛 i’ll keep on posting here and on twitter.

My next stops are:
Vienna  – planned for November 2011
Berlin – definitely in 2011

Tokyo – End of Dec 2011/Jan 2012
meeting lots of friends and hopefully the tokyo hackspace and peaceboat to help out with some volunteering in tohoku

Taiwan – 2012
Turkey – ?

Last days in London

Here’s a quick update.
After i postponed leaving London for nearly more than 2 months since i moved out in August i staid with friends and fellow hackers crashing at couches and beanbags around london. Spreading the Club-Mate Virus in London and helping out the VAST Crew with some promoting kept me busy as well as trying to live a more minimalistic lifestyle and get rid of more of my stuff. i thought that would be easier! 😛

Just yesterday i finished selling things on a jumble sale and made a bit extra cash but still…not all gone. i guess i will donate/chuck away most of the things left.

last things to do in london:

sort out bank stuff, pay some bills and have some leaving drinks with my best mates.

next: take a coach with national express back to germany on wednesday.

looking forward to travel again! 🙂

On the road again…

Moved out, finally! 🙂

I sold some more books and records at a private moving out party in my flat too.
Special thanks to my friends for helping the constantly cash-strapped nomad to get off the starting-blocks. I appreciate your support and hope you enjoy your new purchases!

So, what’s next?
Sending off some stuff to germany next week. A fellow london hackspace member would take a box off my old stuff in his van heading to the ccc camp

I’ll stay in London for a bit longer to work for Club Mate and throw a free party with some friends at the Victoria in Dalston.

Day 52 – 1/7/11 – Amsterdam (NL)

chillout at national monument watching the hustle and bustle of the city.
meeting jon at the winston hostel. off for another pub crawl where we met a couple of funny brazilians and germans who also joined our group. after some shots and more drinks in about 5 bars and clubs later i had enough and went to bed at 7am. very drunk.

Day 39 – 18/6/11 – Berlin (Germany)

£20 > 21.81 @ euro exchange alexanderplatz.

bought fresh kimchi at the asia shop nearby. smelly but tasty. mnyomnom.
after sending a sms to a uk phone from a public phone (first time) heading down to tacheles. not much going on there.
went back home to get my laptop (note to self: a real technomad should always have his gear with him – all the time!)

met a guy from uk with a mohican who is a tour guide for the anti pubcrawl – apart from playing in a band called “el schlong” @ koepi.
oh, what happened to berlin? stag & hen nights, stretch limousines and pub crawls vs. anti pub crawls all over the place?!
adventure tours for all non-berliners with english or spanish speaking tourguides… even street art workshops and for the more daring some night time street art and graffiti raids?! what the …? 😀

birthday party at the local surf point internet cafe near my flat. tried the local berlin cider called OBC with some coffaina which comes in suspicous looking druggie plastic sachets.
he he how interesting. back to tacheles – this time having my laptop with me. spend a euro on the door to support the tacheles but couldn’t find my friend. lost boy in a big city.
passed “based in berlin” bar – made a quick kanji in front of it and said hello to mr. cookies – they are in charge of the bar.
one more falafel. one more beer. heading back home at midnight.

Day 38 – 17/6/11 – Berlin (Germany)

good morning berlin,
going through some old records i left at my friend’s flat which were collecting dust…
quite my soundtrack at the moment is

“anthony rother – trans europe express”
having a coffee at an internet cafe on the road and more. preparing to see the city…
offer down the road: CLUB MATE – icecold – 1.15€
discussing a webproject (to be finished soon) with my brother on chat.

a friend of mine, redpigflower is playing at tacheles tonight. yay!

went to mauerpark to chill with the locals and check berlin graffiti – i just realized where the berliner mauer has been cutting through houses and streets like schwedter strasse nearby. i also realised that i painted graff on the former “todesstreifen” some years ago…

walking down to hackescher markt and met people from vice berlin later. said hello to annika from cobra killer. allsaints spitalfields in berlin looks the same like in london and seems to pretend to be there since the last century with all the shabby chic and worn out stencil look and stuff. how funny that shops want to look aged even if they’re not.

went to see the exhibition BASED IN BERLIN. good work but some of it was probably not worth spending millions of tax money on. anyway. interesting.

met the djays hito and sisen @ kitchenclub party at eschloraque. dresscode: gothic, fetish, kimono, strange – so lots of people sporting a funky nippon neogoth look like sisen himself – who also painted some really good shodo calligraphy to decorate the bar.
people like starkall – a photographer and fashion-freak from cologne who shared a paramount vodka with me. later some more gothic girls joined our round. strange but fun.

went to for an afterhour party at tacheles to see my friend redpigflower play a dj set till 7am. very good and nice chat in the morning. going to bed at 8am…

almost forgot…i also met chuuu one of the many talented tacheles resident artists.
great work!
